Landing Fee Program
Background
On August 1st 2005, the Santa Monica City Council implemented a revised landing
fee program (Resolution No. 9855) for all transient aircraft based on a uniform rate per 1000 pounds
of Maximum Certificated Gross Landing Weight.
Funds generated from the program are used to help maintain the safety
and efficiency of the Airport by financing needed Capital Improvement Projects. These projects
include maintenance and upgrades to the airport's runway and taxiway system, ramps and other pavement
areas, airfield lighting, signage and other user supported activities. Fees are also used
to ensure a secure airport environment including upgrades to airport perimeter fence/gates, our card key access
program, security cameras and lighting.
As the Airport Sponsor, the City has the
responsibility of maintaing a safe and efficient operation, supporting both the flying public
as well as our neighbors in the surrounding community. The key elements of the revised landing fee program are:
|
• Revised Landing Fee Program Began August 1, 2005.
• The uniform landing fee rate is $2.07 per 1,000 lbs of maximum gross landing weight as
