The purpose of this instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety courses. To officially enter the course, you must: |
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Pass a pre-course skills test consisting of 50 yards of the following strokes:
- Front Crawl
- Back Crawl
- Sidestroke
- Breaststroke
- Elementary Backstroke
- Butterfly (10 yards)

- Prospective candidates must pass pre-course skills test in order to continue in the Instructor course. This test will be given on the first day of class. Please plan on getting in the water on the first day of class.
- If you cannot pass any of the above criteria we will refund your payment

In order to receive your certification you must:

- Attend all class
- Pass all skills tests
- Pass all written tests with a score of 80% or more.
