Skaters of all ages can bring back childhood memories—and create new ones—as they
slide, glide, spin and dance on the ice in a festive atmosphere filled with holiday cheer.
Located less than two blocks from the Third Street Promenade at Fifth Street & Arizona
Avenue, ICE at Santa Monica is an affordable, fun, healthy outdoor activity for the
entire family to enjoy. The rink has been expaned to 8,000 sq. ft. of real ice to enjoy this season.
ICE will run until January 19, 2009, and is open daily from 10am-10pm with an
admission of $10 (skate rental included).

City Mourns Councilmember and Former Mayor
Herb Katz
Councilmember and former Mayor Herb Katz passed away peacefully on January 7, 2009, with family and close friends by his side. The family appreciates everyone’s prayers and condolences and requests privacy at this time. Once funeral arrangements are made details will be released.
“It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Herb Katz, one of Santa Monica’s great leaders and friends. Herb distinguished himself in his personal, professional and public life. He will be greatly missed.” --Santa Monica Mayor and City Council.
