SPORTSMANSHIP
The City of Santa Monica promotes
sportsmanship in youth sports leagues with
two awards:
-
COURAGE
AND
LEADERSHIP
- Awarded
to the one player from each team who
exemplifies all the core values of good
sportsmanship. Weekly nominations
are made by each individual player per
team. Players may not vote for
themselves. The player with the
most peer nominations is named the
winner
-
VICTORY
WITH
HONOR
-
At each
game, parents, players and the coach are
given points for their positive support
of their team. Points are deducted
for poor sportsmanship. The team
with the most points at the end of the
season is named the winner.
