An Afternoon with Superhero Creator Stan Lee at the Santa Monica Public Library

Santa Monica, California – The Santa Monica Public Library is pleased to present an afternoon with legendary comic book writer Stan Lee on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.

Stan Lee is internationally famous for co-creating superheroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and The X-men.  In his latest book, Election Daze, Stan presents today’s political figures in a lop-sided look at what they might have said.  Combining great photos by Lauren Victoria Burke, winner of The White House News Photographers Award of Excellence, with Stan’s hilarious captions, neither politics nor humor will ever be the same.

A book sale and signing will follow Stan’s brief introduction to the book.

Admission is free.  Tickets will be available one hour prior to event.  No reserved seating is available, and guests must be on hand to receive an Auditorium ticket. If demand exceeds seating capacity, those who do not receive a ticket may wait to get a book signed, time and Mr. Lee’s schedule permitting.  On site book sales presented courtesy of Hi-De-Ho Comics of Santa Monica. Please note: Mr. Lee will only sign copies of Election Daze.

The Santa Monica Public Library is wheelchair accessible. For special disabled services, call Library Administration at (310) 458-8606 at least one week prior to event.
