Refuse & Recycling Services

The City of Santa Monica 's Solid Waste Management Division provides refuse and recycling services to city residents. Container sizes available to single-family homes, apartments and businesses include 68-, 95-, and 300-gallons for refuse and 2- and 3-cubic yard steel bins. The fee varies according to frequency of service and the number and size of containers serviced. The standard single-family residential service level for refuse and recycling is weekly.

Single-family and some multi-family buildings are offered 95-gallon yard waste containers at no charge. Plastic bags may be purchased from the Solid Waste Division for disposal of excess trash and must be securely fastened when placed for collection.
